Daisy's 4th grade class gets dance instruction about once a week. Today, during their daily morning assembly, her class was going to perform what they had learned. I jogged up to the school to check it out and later reported about it to my wife on IM.

Me: Holy cow, that was some lackluster dancing.
Hank: Really?
Me: Yeah. Those kids danced like they were on their way to the dentist.
Hank: Eagerly?
Me: Sure. 2... 3... 4... Root canal!

(To be honest, I'm not sure whether "on their way to the dentist" or "zombies" best captures the abject lethargy with which these kids danced. I guess if you could imagine zombies glumly shuffling to go get some fillings, that would accurately reflect the energy level in the performance.)

Me: Daisy, of course, was the exception.
Hank: She danced like she was on her way to Disneyland?
Me: Yeah!
Hank: She is so going to get beat up in middle school.
Me: Just like her old man.

Thought you might be interested in this story from The Scientist http://www.the-scientist.com/article/display/55704/ about a pseudo-hypoallergenic cat from Allerca. These people got a cat for $6000, but it doesn't appear to be hypoallergenic. It's a cute cat, though!

I enjoy your blog . . .I just happened upon it one day and it is often amusing. Have a good weekend!

Hi Anon. Fear not, I am quite familiar with the article in question. I even have a hard copy sitting here on the counter next to me. Thanks for the tip though, I'm always eager to hear news about the slimy antics of Allerca.
