A crappy video of my new room....

You know, as much as I would love to have bamboo floors, I'm sticking with my laminate until Ethan is older for just the reason you mentioned. Still, they look awesome! And I love the bank of storage cabinets. Those will certainly come in handy!

Very nice room, Mike. Now aren't you glad you threw mountains of money at it? I'm sure your wife is. And the plasma screen... I'm drooling. (Plus, you're not half bad yourself. ;o) )

Yo Avery! We've got a laminate floor in our kitchen and we hate it. It looks pretty nice, but it's not nearly hard enough. It's dented all over the place from people with high heels, people leaning back in their chairs, people with fingernails, etc

The iron bamboo can't be any softer than that stuff.

As for me not being half bad, what does that mean? I'm 10% bad? 90% Bad to the bone? The plasma is clearly drool-worthy. And did you notice that the one device currently hooked up to it is the Wii?

Laminate's cheap. When Ethan is older, I'm replacing our laminate and carpet downstairs with bamboo. It's gorgeous, but I'm not going to invest the money in it until I know it won't be ritually subjected to the abuses that only a pre-schooler's derelict mind can conjure. Ron wants hardwood floors in his office, too, so I might just bite the bullet and tear out the carpets upstairs in the bedrooms as well. It's on the list of things I'd do if I had unlimited funds.

Scratch that. If I had unlimited funds, we're building my dream house.

And, yes, I did notice that you had the Wii hooked up to the plasma. Sweet set-up you got there. The only thing you're missing is a mini-fridge. And maybe a bar, if you're of that persuasion. Which apparently you are, seeing as how you're 90% bad to the bone. Because, of course that's what I meant. You read me like an open book.

I agree that the hardwood is nice and it seems they did a good job in the installation. We have hardwood floors too, but it's abominable how the planks decided to shrink leaving gaps. What was previously under your living room?

No fridge and no bathroom on that level. No food inputs or outputs.

Hi Will. Our backyard slopes down, so the living room used to just jut off of the hill. Under it was just open space, a combination of concrete, dirt, and weeds. It was a room-sized space under there, so we had an epiphany and built a room.

No bar....NO BAR????!!! No foosball? No paintings of dogs playing poker? No hanging Tiffany Budweiser lamps?

Oh well. It looks very nice and grown-up.

We had a painter in a couple of years ago to do some insurance work...complete and total moron. His name was "Randy."

Carey, you raise a good point. More importantly, I think you stole your "painter" story directly from the "adult" shelf of your local video store.
